for our first race of the 2022 season…

This race is in memoriam for our beloved treasurer and longtime friend Bob Kearns who created this race for all members of Point Loma Yacht Club as well as other clubs. Each year PLYC has hosted the 4 Buoy Fiasco Race, the first race of the year. In 2018 we changed the race to simply “The Bob Kearns Memorial Race”, honoring the memory of long time Staff Commodore and Treasurer.  We invite other clubs and the Challenged Sailors San Diego to join us in the race.

This is a ‘fun race’ for PLYC members and all other yacht club members are welcome.
Entry Fee is $20 for non-members. All PLYC Members race free, Challenged Sailors race for free also.

The STARTING AREA will be near the center of Harbor Island. We will be using a Race Committee Boat to start the race so the start line will between the Committee Boat and the Yellow Buoy

The four course marks are channel markers 18, 19, 21, and FM 19. All boats will start starting together at approximately 12 noon. The finish line is the same as the same as the starting line

Please return the signed entry form to PLYC by Friday 6 PM May 13, 2022, check in with the committee boat ½ hour before the start time. The Challange Sailors will run a shorter course. 

The after-race party will follow immediately after the race finish or approximately 4 PM, at Fiddler’s
Green on Shelter Island Dr.
